Lessons from nature do not always come as we expect them to. Sometimes we have to wait. Sometimes we have to explore.

My life had become unbalanced in the city and so I went searching. I found the way I was looking for – it was amidst the lightning that darted this way and that in rhythm with my fears; the deep sapphire lake framed by towering pines of jaw-dropping enormity; through drifting snow and unsure footing. I would learn how to keep my bearings – because nature provided the lessons. Sometimes, abruptly and aggressively as a raging storm, sometimes as quiet and gentle as a flower opening to the morning sun.
              A remote island in northern Canada on Lake of the Woods was my home for 15 years with my husband and Alaskan malamute. We pioneered from coal oil lanterns and outhouses to solar power and indoor plumbing. All the while, learning lessons from nature. Join The Pack and our adventure!
